Simon Wood
Director / Consultant
Simon joined First Point Group in 2006 and now leads First Point Group as a Director and an accomplished Consultant, with over 20 years of residential and business lending experience.
Simon is an Accredited Mortgage Consultant with the MFAA, holds a Diploma in Lending and he has completed various studies in Financial Planning and IT.
Simon enjoys the opportunity to mentor and develop the team at First Point Group, and he enjoys many long term customer relationships. Simon’s values including generosity, empathy and working hard for our clients have earned him a reputation for reliability and trustworthiness in the industry.
Outside of work, Simon is a proud father of twins and he enjoys spending family time outdoors including motorbike riding, fishing and coaching basketball.
Ross Reber
Consultant
Ross is an accomplished Consultant, having joined the First Point Group team in 2016. Prior to this Ross gained valuable experience working across sales and operations roles at one of our mainstream Lenders.
Ross is dedicated to assisting and educating his clients in all matters of finance. He prides himself on respect, patience, attention to detail and clear communication.
Ross is an Accredited Mortgage Consultant with the MFAA, holds a Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking Management and has completed previous studies via a Bachelor of Commerce Majoring in Management and Marketing.
Away from work, Ross enjoys exploring the outdoors, spending weekends away at the surf coast with his family, keeping fit and watching the footy.
David Lamperd
Director / Consultant
David has enjoyed numerous senior roles within the finance industry covering commercial/business and residential lending, human resources, training and strategic sourcing.
David leads the business as an Accredited Mortgage Consultant with the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia and has a Diploma in Lending.
Aside from work David enjoys time with his family, his relatively new activity of sailing and watching all sport, in particular Rugby League.
Iria Halbert
Senior Analyst
Iria is an experienced Credit Analyst with a background in banking and many years in the finance industry.
Iria enjoys building strong relationships with our clients, and delving into complex client data to uncover meaningful insights, and contribute to strategic decision making to help clients fulfil their financial goals.
Iria is a keen golfer and supporter of his beloved New Zealand Warriors NRL team.
Nicole Wood
Business & Client Support
Nicole has been with our team in various roles for many years and now serves the pivotal role of Business & Client Support.
Nicole has a Bachelor of Business in Human Resources and Finance from Swinburne University. Nicole’s background includes 15 years in Human Resources across various industry sectors - predominately in Financial Services.
Away from the office Nicole enjoys playing tennis, basketball and all things fitness, as well as spending time with her family.
Steve Schumann
Consultant
Steve enjoyed many years as a successful Real Estate Agent prior to moving into finance and mortgage broking. This means Steve has an in-depth understanding of property from both sides of the transaction.
Steve has completed the Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management.
Steve enjoys problem solving and achieving excellent outcomes for his clients, whilst delivering an exceptional client experience. He also thrives on continuous learning and professional growth.
Outside of the office, you will find Steve at Marvel Stadium supporting the Western Bulldogs, watching his two sons play junior footy or hanging out with his wife and beloved ‘Tilly’, the labradoodle! He also loves spending time in Queensland with his family and two daughters.
Tim Brain
Consultant
Growing up on a rural farm in the Mallee, Tim developed a strong work ethic and community values that continue to guide him today. Tim went on to build a 20-year career with NAB, working across retail, business, and private banking. Since then, he has broadened his expertise across industries as both an Energy Broker and Finance Broker.
As an experienced Consultant, Tim takes pride in helping clients navigate the market to find the right solutions - his expertise includes residential finance, commercial / business finance and SMSF finance. Tim is committed to continual learning, ensuring his clients always receive informed, dependable advice, regular updates, and ongoing support.
Outside of work, Tim loves spending time with his wife and two boys, is a passionate Carlton / AFL supporter, and keeps fit as an Aussie Rules field umpire.
Jericah Canuto
Assistant
Often the first person to greet clients who call our office phone, Jericah does a wonderful job supporting our Consultants & Analysts and brings a distinctive combination of technical expertise and analytical acumen to her role.
Outside of work Jericah enjoys watching movies, dining out with family, and keeping active through jogging and basketball. She is also an avid reader with a love for fantasy novels.
